Bom-K study
I was given a exercise at uni to use the same technique as an artist I admire. The only way I found it possible to get black lines with a HB pencil was to work the hell out of it and over expose it in photoshop afterward, think it looks ok.
Bombin (1987)
This is one of the best Graffiti documentarys Ive seen for a long time showing the differences in the UK and NYC scene and that really there was nothing different. The graffiti jam was filmed in Birmingham (my home) and also 2 of my friends are in it, Juice 126 and Craze (33:29 into the film), two of Birmingham's legendary writers.
First shown on Channel 4 in the UK, Bombin’ chronicles the journey of NY artist Brim through the UK media, as well as meeting a young Goldie, who in turn travels to NYC to meet Afrika Baambaata. This was filmed at the times of the Birmingham riots and shows the parallels of life in the inner city on both sides of the Atlantic.
